Your blood pressure should be back to normal now that you know Cisco offers migration paths that allow you to continue your Cisco certification track and then transition to the new one on February 24, 2020. You might be worried about the Boson study products that you bought to help you achieve your credentials. Perhaps you have already purchased ExSim-Max Cisco 200-125 CCNA to help you study for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). But life has changed and you aren’t sure if you will be able to pass the exam before the transition on February 24th. Are you wasting your money?
You have not spent your money. Boson has announced an upgrade program that will allow you to receive a free upgrade of the appropriate Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or CCNA products for the new Cisco exam tracks. This applies if you purchased specific Boson products following Cisco’s announcement. You must have an existing single-user Boson product licence after June 1, 2019 to be eligible for the free upgrade. This upgrade policy applies for Boson NetSim Network Simulator CCNA or CCNP and Boson ExSim Max Practice Exam products for CCNA, CCNP and CCNA, as well as Boson Courseware products CCNA/CCNP.
Boson NetSim Network Simulator Upgrade
You will be eligible for a free upgrade to NetSim for CCNA if you purchased a single-user license of Boson NetSim 12 CCNA after June 1, 2019. You can get a free upgrade to the next version NetSim for CCNP if you purchased a single-user license of Boson NetSim 12 CCNA after June 1, 2019.
Cisco has announced that it is ending the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician credential (CCENT). Candidates who have passed the 100-105 Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices 1 (ICND1) exam prior to February 24, 2020 will not be migrated to the new Cisco exam tracks. However, your CCENT credential remains valid for three years. You will not be eligible for a free upgrade if you only purchase the Boson NetSim12 for CCENT product.
Boson ExSim Max CCNA Practice Exams: Upgrading Boson
The Boson ExSim Max Practice Exam products offer free upgrades. This is because Cisco is replacing all the CCNA concentration exams with the new CCNA 200-301. If you purchased a single-user license of the Boson ExSim-Max Cisco 200-125 CNA product after June 1, 2019, then you will be eligible for a free upgrade.
You can also get a free upgrade to Boson ExSim-Max Cisco 200-301 CCNA exam if you purchased a single-user license of both the Boson ExSim-Max Cisco 100-105 ICN1 product and the Boson ExSim-Max Cisco 200-105 ICN2 product after June 1, 2019. A single-user license that is only for the ICND1 or ICND2 product after June 1, 2019 does not qualify for the free upgrade. To qualify for the upgrade, you must have purchased both products.
Cisco has also decided to replace a number of CCNA-level concentration tests with the 200-301 exam. CCNA Design (200-301), CCNA Security (220-260), CCNA Collaboration (21-260) and 210-065 (210-065), respectively, and CCNA Data Center (220-150 and 220-155).
